This indoor carousel is located on pier 57 on the Seattle waterfront. I had no idea it was here until I wandered in one day while heading for the Seattle Aquarium.

I asked one of the guys working there about it's past, but his reply was "I don't know nuthin' 'bout it. I just work here." Evidently it's been here for quite some time, but there was nothing about it's history evident in the area. The listed coordinates are for the entrance to Pier 57 on Alaskan Way.

Take a ride on a true Seattle gem – an indoor vintage carousel, an original hand carved carousel from the early 20th century. It is one of the oldest working carousels in North America and features electric lights and galloping horses. There’s a beautifully decorated horse, or sleigh, for everyone. A joy for children of all ages. Complete your visit with freshly-made cotton candy or hot buttered popcorn.
The Pier 57 Carousel was featured on “Extreme Makeover Home Edition – the Kirkwood Family”. The family visited the Carousel during the house makeover, where a room was designed with a Carousel theme.
It was also chosen as “Best Waterfront Carousel” by Seattle Weekly Magazine.
Conveniently located next to the Seattle Waterfront Arcade.
