The Wikipedia entry primarily includes U.S. Census Bureau information. The following information is from the City of Williston's website (visit link):

"Williston is located in Florida's heartland and has abundant natural resources, which include the world-famous dive springs of Devil's Den and Blue Grotto, upland forests, and many other beautiful physical features. Williston is part of "The Original Florida" and is the gateway to "The Nature Coast." This region exudes southern charm and hospitality coupled with its rich history and vast wilderness."

"The natural attributes of this region provide a high quality of life for residents and it is home to the University of Florida. Industries that are experiencing significant growth are manufacturing, distribution, and forestry. The cost of conducting business in this region is minimal in comparison to surrounding regions producing the same caliber of talent and skilled labor. These successes are supported by an infrastructure consisting of Interstate Highways, State and County Roads, railroads, and the Williston Municipal Airport with its surrounding 2,000-acre Industrial Park."

"Williston has two elementary schools, a middle school and a high school and hosts the Annual Peanut Festival in the fall. Williston is in close proximity to the University of Florida; other educational facilities in the area include the Central Florida and Santa Fe Community Colleges. One of the area's major employers, Monterey Boats, is just finishing an 110,000 square foot expansion of its manufacturing facilities and hiring 85 more personnel with the assistance of the City's $650,000 infrastructure grant and a Florida Quick Response Training grant of $249,000. In support of economic activities, the north central Florida region offers an excellent transportation infrastructure with the existence of an effective highway, railway, and airport system that provides access to local, regional, national, and international markets. The ground transportation infrastructure of Levy County incorporates Interstates 10 and 75 and a local highway network consisting of US Highways 19, 27 and 129, and State Roads 24 and 121. CSX Transportation provides the City of Williston with rail service."

"The City of Williston and its surrounding area have a wealth of assets, talents, and natural attributes that has made it a growing region. Businesses and corporations that locate in north central Florida have the advantage of being situated in a region with a low cost of living and a low cost environment in which to conduct business with its abundance of land and funding sources. With such a location, the Williston Municipal Airport and the CSX Rail Road play a critical role in the movement of goods and the conduct of business. There are 50 fixed-wing tenant aircraft on the airport. Our 2 runways are currently 6390’ (5-23) and 4330’ (14-32). We are extending 5-23 back to it original length of 7,000 feet by a resurfacing white topping (concrete) project and extending taxiway “A” to accommodate the new runway length. Both projects should be complete in August of ’05. Other projects in the planning stage are additional T-hangars, a corporate hangar park, a new FBO and an exposition building for trade shows."
