The interpretive sign at Brookfield Zoo reads:
An unusual creature - a duck-billed dinosaur called a "trachodon" - came to Brookfield Zoo in 1970. Contributed by the Atlantic-Richfield Company, the 32-foot fiberglass dinosaur was part of the Sinclair collection of "terrible lizards" built for the New York World's Fair in 1964.

Created by Sculptor Louis Paul Jonas, the reproduction was set the trees near Indian Lake to surprise visitors... and perhaps remind them who used to rule the world.
