The Roswell P. Flower Memorial Library was built in 1903 and it appears that no expense was spared as the building is very large and beautiful in its design and architecture. From its huge pillars, engraved upper blocks, life sized lion statues at the front steps, two fountains in the front yard, domed roof, etc...It was named after a very prominent Watertown citizen and the $60,000 donation to build the library was a gift to the city by R.P. Flowers daughter in 1901.
