An aquarium located on the beach in San Pedro, Port of Los Angeles area. Lots of small tanks and displays for up close observing. Touch tanks for kids. Many special events and educational programs during the year, such as Grunion runs, Autumn Sea Fair, Whale Fesival, Earth Day Fair and more. Visit the web site to see all that is offered.
Free parking with a walk of 1/4 to 1/2 mile, or parking just feet away at $1 per hour, $7 Max. This is worth it because you can also drive to the ocean adjacent parking lots.
The aquarium is a member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, run by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. If you are in the area and like aquariums, its worth the visit. Take the trolly car from the cruise terminal past the L.A. Maritime museum to the south end of the line, and catch the shuttle to the aquarium.
