Sandbar & Grill is a popular restaurant in Monterey harbor. It is located not at but under Monterey's commercial wharf, which makes it unique by offering a water-level-view at boats, sea lions and sea otters.
The place has been in business uninterrupted for 42 years. It started as a boat fueling station, moved on to selling bait and fishing gear, and eventually evolved from a coffee and hot dogs stand to one of Monterey's best hidden culinary secrets. | |
The old fuel jetty is located right next to the restaurant, so, theoretically, one could berth a boat right here, but most people prefer using the wharf.
