The memorial is in a park, called Railroad Park, in the old downtown portion of this city. The railroad depot across the street from the memorial is now the city hall.
Within the park itself, is an Arizona marker about the construction of the Southern Pacific Railroad in this area, and a large statue of Rex Allen. His theater is just across the street from the statue. Several plaques are around about Rex Allen, and brands, etc...
very interesting place.
A young man, a friend of my sons, was traveling with me to California from Missouri. My son was about to graduate from Marine Corps boot camp, and we wanted to be there. But we had just spent (Mon & Tues.) 33 hours fighting ice storms, sleet and freezing rain across MO, OK, TX. So when we came to this lovely park in bright, but cold, sunshine. We had to stop, spend some time, read, and enjoy this pleasant place.
Wars mentioned (Multi-war only): Not listed
