After entering Arches National Park, the Courthouse Towers is just off one of the first major reefs you will come to pass. The north trailhead for the Park Avenue Trail starts here.

"COURTHOUSE TOWERS
The Windows section is in a reef that stands out 300 to 400 feet above the desert; the Courthouse Towers section lies in a system of canyons cut as deep below the desert. It is best reached by foot trail from US 160, 4.5 m. north of Moab, which transcends the north wall of Moab Valley and descends into PARK AVENUE, the main scenic route through the section."

We stopped at the first turnoff after entering the park at the main entrance. This is the trailhead to the Park Avenue trail through to the Courthouse Towers. The walls here are steep, imposing on the trail like a courthouse in a skyscraper filled city.
The walls are shear from wind and erosion and streaked with reds, pinks, greens and blueish color.
