Despite opening over 10 years ago, San Francisco Solano is still one of the newest buildings in the Orange diocese.

In the early days of this parish, services were held in the gymnasium of the adjoining high school. Finally, in 1996, the church officially opened its own facility, a mission-influenced design that has won a number of architectural awards. Most recently, a pipe organ was installed in May 2007.
