Several scenes were filmed here. The prisoners of war march out daily for exercise, and stop here for a smoke break. Von Werra drops behind the stone wall and runs to a field gate. But he is seen by local land army girls, spreading manure. Several scenes were shot here from the same camera mount without moving.
A scene where a local approaches by a horse and cart was filmed here as well.
The long shot of the land army girls in the field was also taken here.

"German Luftwaffe pilot Oberleutnant Franz von Werra (Hardy Kruger) is shot down over Kent and captured by British soldiers. After interrogation in London, von Werra is imprisoned in a camp in the Lake District and brags to his interrogators that he will escape within six months. Captivity cannot deter him from the single aim of escaping back to his homeland and he makes two unsuccessful attempts while in England; once by slipping away over wall,"
