This is one of many granite posts used to mark points on the boundary lines between towns in Massachusetts, in this case, the City of Beverly and the Town of Wenham. The letter "B" (for Beverly) is painted on one side. It is approximately fifteen inches wide and two feet high.
The marker is located on the southeast side of Dodge Street (Beverly)/Dodge's Row (Wenham). It is about 50 yards southwest of the intersection with Grover Street, and about twenty feet southwest of an "Entering Wenham" sign. The it is about halfway up a steep bank, about 15 feet from the edge of the pavement. It appears to be lying on its back, flat against the bank. The letters "AD 1733" are engraved near the top, although they are difficult to read.
The next adjacent mark heading east is
Beverly-Wenham 5A, 0.9 miles.
The next adjacent mark heading west is
Beverly-Wenham 5C, 1.3 miles.
