The La Rue Mills Cemetary is located on the Thousand Islands Parkway by the eastern entry to the Old River Road and is designated as the oldest cemetery in the county of Leeds and Grenville. La Rue Mills Cemetery is the resting place of William (Billa) La Rue, his wife Abigail and six of their nine children. William La Rue was a United Empire Loyalist timber merchant and mill owner. The oldest grave is that of his son Joseph, who was almost six when he died in 1804.
