A large imposing stone Celtic Cross, in the churchyard of Eglwys St Catherines Church. St Catherines is a member of the Church of Wales From the road there is no evidence that it is in fact a memorial, you have to enter the churchyard to read the plaque, inscribed 'To Glory of God and the imortal memory of over 100 gallant men of Gorseinon & district who fell in the Great Wars of 1914-18 & 1939-45'.
A picture of the engraved stone is shown in the gallery photos.
Also notice that Celtic crosses cap the church roof.

CROSS WAS THE GIFT OF MAJOR LEWIS, MR W R LEWIS AND MR T LEWIS REF: 'HERALD' newspaper 1923 .
