Situated on Slovenia’s beautiful ten mile-long Southwestern coastline is the charming Koper Port. The port is just a few miles from Slovenia’s border with Italy and offers a nice Mediterranean climate. The summers are warm and dry with cooler winter nights.
Nearly 25 thousand people live near the Koper cruise terminal, but the population is known to grow in the summer time. The port town was an island until it was in 1824 when it connected to Slovenia’s main land, via a causeway. The Koper government was part of the Venetian Republic for several thousand years before being taken over by France, Austria and Italy.
