Beneath this inscription are two scenes. On top is a representation of the Idaho State Capitol with the bridge on the left, and the date 1931 above it. The lower portion of the plaque has a depiction of a wagon train and a horse rider with mountains in the background.
The plaque measures approx. 2' x 3' with a bronze light shade mounted on the top.
The Capital Boulevard Memorial Bridge was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, and example of art deco design. It was built in 1931 as a memorial to the Oregon Trail Pioneers, and is located near one of the historic crossings of the Boise River.
