The Colorado - New Mexico - Oklahoma tri-point is located in a remote area but is accessible via asphalt roads except for the last half mile which is a good gravel road. To access this tri-point from Boise City, Oklahoma take Hwy 325 toward Kenton. Take the road heading north just prior to reaching Kenton, it will have signs for Black Mesa, the highest point in Oklahoma. Drive past the parking area for Black Mesa, at this point the road will become a more winding and hilly. You will also cross several cattle guards, beware of cattle in the road way. Immediately after the road changes to gravel will be a gravel road heading west along the Oklahoma - Colorado line. At the tri-point the road will have a loop for an easy turn around.
.
The tri-point is marked with a stone marker with Colorado engraved on two sides and New Mexico and Oklahoma engraved on each of the other sides
An interesting highlight is a 1881 survey stone which is located about .2 miles north (N37° 0.162 W103° 0.1404) which was the original marked tri-point. With more modern survey equipment the location was corrected and moved to the current location. The historic stone is accessible by walking on a track heading north from the modern tri-point.
