The memorial is two stone panels flanking an earlier Civil War Memorial.

The panel on the left has an eagle with wings spread and is inscribed:

 The panel on the right has bronze disks with the seals of each of the branches of service.  It is inscribed:

In front of the memorial is an eternal flame.
