This episode is set in Christmas 1955. Tristan has borrowed money from Siegfried to buy himself a Daimler Coupe and is having trouble paying it back. In desperation he makes a bet on the length of the Christmas peel that the bell ringers will ring with the newly restored bells. This gives him inside knowledge as he has re-joined the bell ringers, in pursuit of a Miss Marston. Tristan wins his bet and repays Siegfried outside the church.

The clips show Siegfried arriving for the Christmas service.
