This arena located at Oklahoma State Fair Park, was originally named James Norick State Fair Arena, and sometimes called the State Fair Coliseum. Others refer to it as State Fair Arena, and it has been nicknamed “The Big House.” The arena seats 10,944 in its usual configuration and has a floor space of 30,000 square feet. Addressed as 333 Gordon Cooper Boulevard, it is easy to find, on the south side of the park, when you arrive at the State Fair Park. In front of the arena, a plaza area has large concrete "bowls" standing on the concrete, planted with shrubs. A Coca-Cola memorial Centennial clock also stands here.
The arena has hosted the state high school basketball playoffs, and in the past was home to the Oklahoma City Blazers, of the Central Hockey League, from 1965-1977. The arena is the venue for numerous rodeos, horse shows and events, and is equipped with 1,000 indoor stalls. The Disney on Ice show has performed here for over twenty years, and will appear again in mid-September 2012.
Other events include:
Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association Range Round Up
American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show (November 2012)
