From Felton, take the Felton Empire Road and proceed 0.5 miles to the small Fall Creek parking area.

Bennett Creek Trail starts right at the main parking lot for Fall Creek Unit of Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. The hiking only trail passes an information signboard, then descends easily through huckleberry, Douglas fir, coast live oak, hazelnut, tanoak, and California bay. About 0.16 miles, the trail branches to the right becoming the Fall Creek Fire Road and to the left becoming the Fall Creek Trail.

Fall Creek Trail follows along the left bank of the year-round running Fall Creek. At 0.76 mile, you'll reach a signed junction at the confluence of two creeks, Fall Creek and South Fall Creek. A footbridge crosses the South Fall Creek branch and follows that creek branch toward the lime kilns.
