This five-story building was the first steel and concrete, fire-resitant commercial building in Salem. It has a white pressed brick front and is surfaced in black granite at the street level. The building was constructed for the United States National Bank of Salem in 1909. It is a historic contributing structure in Salem's downtown historic district.
