The Kubli building was constructed in 1884, on the site of historic Jacksonville's first court building. The facade is nearly identical to the Redmen's Hall, which adjoins on the east wall. The original tenants were a general store and tinsmith shop, but by the late 1880s to 1890s, the ground floor was occupied by a farming and mining supply store, while the tin shop was in the rear and the second floor used for storage. During the early 1900s, the building contained a blacksmith shop. Today, the building houses a gift shop.
