Dr. Will Jackson, who became a well-established dentist in Jacksonville from the late 1860's to the late 1880's, migrated to Jacksonville from Missouri. Jackson had this single-story wood-frame house built in 1873 near his dental office. Jackson also traveled to neighboring towns, offering his dental services in Ashland and Kerbyville.

Today, the Will Jackson house is home to "The Candy Shoppe."
