From the San Diego Coast Life web site:
Crown Point Park is located on North Mission Bay in a residential area. The bayside park includes a long, narrow, sandy beach which becomes very wide at the south end. Just north of Crown Point is the Northern Wildlife Preserve. The park is very large, and although one continuous area, is divided into three sections, for permit purposes.
Crown Point North is a large, grassy area with wide, open spaces, shade trees, a picnic shelter, picnic tables, barbecue grills, fire rings and a narrow, sandy beach. During summer, a lifeguard is on duty at a swimming area on the bay. Permits can be issued for gatherings up to 200 people, with one inflatable.
Crown Point Middle, larger than Crown Point North, has shade trees, picnic tables and barbecue grills, fire rings, basketball courts, a boat launch, and a narrow, sandy beach. Permits can be issued for gatherings up to 400 people, with two inflatables/party jumps maximum.
Crown Point South has a small, grassy area with picnic tables and barbecue grills, and a wide, sandy beach, with fire rings, on the south end. This is perhaps the widest beach on Mission Bay. The beach has nice vies of Ski Beach on Vacation Isle, Fiesta Island, SeaWorld, and downtown San Diego. Next to the beach are restrooms and rinse showers. Permits can be issued for gatherings up to 350 people, with two inflatables/party jumps maximum.
