The Watt house is of the Queen Anne/Eastlake style, one-and-one-half stories with a daylight basement. The house, named for James and Flora Watt, is on land originally owned by James's father Joseph Watt. James Watt was a stock raiser who married Flora Parker in Jacksonville and lived on Howell Prairie for the first nine years of their marriage. After James died, Flora sold this house in 1925 and moved to smaller nearby houses built by the Watt family.
