This house is believed to have been built around 1920 by Jefferson Pooler, who built at least seven houses in the historic district. The house features stucco surfacing and decorative half-timbering in the side-facing gables. After Pooler's death in 1925, his widow sold the house to Wallace and Mabel Moore. Mr. Moore was the founder of Moore furniture in Salem. Moore died in 1937 and the house was sold the following year to Moore's son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Gardner Knapp. Mr. Knapp was active in the community as a member of the Salem School Board, President of the Oregon School Board Association and president of the Salem Chamber of Commerce. The Knapp's sold the house in 1959.
