This house is believed to have been built by Henry Wenger, a carpenter, in 1904 on land purchased from Sarah Watt Smith. For a time, Henry and his wife Rosa were owners of the Florence Hotel, located at the corner of 12th and Oak streets near the train depot. The Wengers sold this house in 1913 to E.H. and Hulda Anderson. By the 1950s this house had been converted into four apartments, but during the 1980s it was restored back to it's original configuration as a single-family residence.
