This house was built for Dr. Lucian Clement and his wife Adelaide. Dr. Clement was part of a Salem practice specializing in ear, nose, throat and eye care. One of his partner, Dr. B.L. Steeves, also built a large colonial house two blocks south a couple of years earlier. The Clements sold this house in 1945. In 1948, it was purchased by Chi Omega Sorority for their Willamette University members. The sorority sold the house in 1956.
