This house was built for attorney Frank Holmes in 1906. Mr. Holmes, a graduate of Willamette University, practiced law in Salem from 1897 to 1915, selling the house in 1909. He and his wife Josie Adamson then moved to McMinnville, where he worked as Justice of the Peace from 1941 to 1953, passing away in 1961. The house changed hands many times through the years. It appears to have been recently restored, or at least freshly painted.
