The honour roll commemorates those members of the Anglican Church who lost their lives in both World War I and World War II. Accompanying the Honour Roll are books containing the names of all those affiliated with the Church of England in Canada (Anglican Church) who resided in the Kelowna area and served in World I and returned.

As well, there is a separate memorial cross dedicated to those of the 2nd. Canadian Mounted Rifles who served in World War I and did not return.

These memorials reside in a beautiful cathedral (since 1987, when it was rededicated as such) constructed of local sandstone and granite.

The cornerstone for this cathedral was laid on July 30th, 1911 and construction was completed in 1913. Built as a church and dedicated as a Cathedral in 1987, the historic building replaced the first Anglican Church in Kelowna. It was designed by architect Wesley A. Peters and constructed by Harry W. Raymer, the same duo that had designed and built the impressive Knox Presbyterian Church at 721 Bernard Avenue two year earlier, in 1909. Though not original, the building now has many commemorative stained glass windows, replacing the original leaded glass over the years.

The Cathedral was designated a heritage site on March 20, 2000, and listed on the Canadian Register on March 7, 2009.

Description of Memorial:
The Roll Of Honour is a large, ornate hand made wooden plaque mounted on the wall of the rear of the cathedral. It is accompanied by rolls of those affiliated with the Anglican Church in the Kelowna area who served in World War I and did return.

We discovered these memorial items while touring this cathedral and photographing its many stained glass windows, several of which are also memorials, dedicated to pioneer citizens of the Kelowna area.

We discovered the cathedral by accident, just happened to be driving by and spotted it. After three tries at the office next door, a kind lady came to the door, greeted us and opened the cathedral, allowing us to visit the interior. The windows alone are worth the visit.

Date of dedication: Not listed
