This beautifully kept cemetery, in a remote part of the Ozarks of McDonald County Missouri, is the burial place of Albert E. Brumley, who wrote the well-known gospel song I'll Fly Away, as well as over 800 other songs. His wife, Goldie is buried next to him. According to BillionGraves.com, there were 162 burials recorded in Fox Cemetery at the time of this listing. Although there were many graves without dates, the earliest recorded grave was from 1876.

The coordinates of this listing are just inside the main gate. I often joke about this area of the Ozarks because, all the years I lived in Illinois (most of my life) I could never seem to compose an original music piece. Then we moved down here (2003) only a short distance from where Brumley lived, and I started composing. Perhaps something in the water?? (Fox Cemetery is about 7.8 miles from my house.)

On a sad note, it is only a short distance away that the body of Rowan Ford was found in a sink hole in November 2007. (She is not buried here.)
