This is the second of three sets of decorative gateposts found along the western edges of the Oregon State Hospital campus. This entry is at the intersection of Center Street and Bobolink Drive.

Metal gates used to attach to the stone gate posts but the gates were removed many years ago. Each post includes a metal cap topped by a stone ball.

It is no longer possible to drive a vehicle through these gates; a sign that reads "Oregon State Hospital, Established 1883, People Helping People" is mounted between two metal posts in the center of the street. This blocks vehicles but allows pedestrian traffic to pass through the gates.
