This is the first of three sets of decorative gateposts found along the western edges of the Oregon State Hospital campus. This entry is at the intersection of 24th Street and Bluebird Drive.

Metal gates used to attach to the stone gate posts but the gates were removed many years ago. Each post includes a metal cap topped by a stone ball.

It is no longer possible to drive a vehicle through these gates; a pair of bollards block vehicle access but allow pedestrian traffic to pass through the gates.
