The Hockenjos/Fick House is considered a contributing property in the Jacksonville Historic District. This one-and-one-half story home was constructed by John Hockenjos, a German carpenter, in 1878. Mr. Hockenjos was active in Jacksonville's building trade for about 25 years, beginning in 1870. After his death in 1894, his wife Eva retained ownership of the house until 1915. The first person to rent the house was a German-born butcher named Nicholas Fick, who is believed to have lived here shortly after his arrival in Jacksonville around 1880.

Today the house is occupied by an acupuncture clinic.
