Hidden in Troodos mountain forests, north of village Pano Platres, you can find one of two highest natural waterfalls in Cyprus - Kalidonia (or also Caledonia) Waterfalls.

Kalidonia Waterfalls discovered and named by the British military expedition, visiting the area of Platres, in 1878. Waterfalls are located 2 km north of Pano Platres. The first visitors ware amazed by the beauty and the resemblance of the waterfall with their home land - Scotland (Caledonia is ancient Latin name of Scotland). The water of the waterfall falls vertically from a height of 12 m. The visitor may visit the area using the roadway towards the waterfall or following nature trail on foot leading to it near Psilo Dendro (see parking coordinates).
