Figurgruppen blev opstillet 30. juli 1901 som pendant til Nilen. Selv om Tiber-floden er såre beskeden i forhold til Nilen, er den figurlige fremstilling af floden, der løber gennem Rom, en lige så vældig kæmpe.
Han hviler på sin albue og holder i den ene hånd et overflødighedshorn, i den anden et ror, symboliserende henholdsvis velstand og samfærdsel. Ved hans side ligger den romerske ulvinde, som dier tvillingerne Romulus og Remus. På bronzesoklens sider ses dyremotiver (heste, får, køer og tigre) samt figurer, der bader. Andre repræsenterer handelslivet.
Originalen blev fundet i 1512 i Isis-templet Iseo Campense nær S. Maria sopra Minerva, Rom.

Figure Group was established 30 July 1901 as a counterpart to the Nile. Although the Tiber River is modest in relation to the Nile, the figurative manufacture of the river that runs through Rome, an equally powerful giant.
He rests on his elbow and holding in one hand a cornucopia, in the other a rudder, symbolizing respectively prosperity and travel. At his side is the Roman she-wolf that feeds the twins Romulus and Remus. On the bronze sides is seen animal motifs (horses, sheep, cows and tigers) and characters who bathe. Other represents commercial life.
The original was found in 1512 in the Temple of Isis Iseo Campense near S. Maria sopra Minerva, Rome.
