The Bachman & Forry Tobacco Warehouse was built between 1893 and 1895. The structure is a three and one-half story building, 54 feet by 85 feet. Bales of tobacco were moved from floor to floor by a hand operated elevator measuring 8 feet by 8 feet.
The Bachman & Forry Tobacco Warehouse building was built to serve as a commercial storage building where the bales bought from area farmers were stored and sweated into proper condition.
In the 1930's, the warehouse became the property of the David Forry Tobacco Company.
