Seven story office building completed in 1921 in a Second Renaissance Revival style is located at the intersection of three main streets, Manchester, Chouteau and Vandeventer. The building was constructed for the Chouteau Trust Co. and Chouteau Mortgage Co. as an investment and to serve as their offices. Though the building was located outside the St. Louis central business district it was was well connected to the city via three main streetcar lines. Besides the Chouteau financial companies the building housed other financial companies, government agencies, building tradesmen and suppliers and labor unions.
