George W. Johnson School was replaced by a new school on Taft Avenue

George W. Johnson was the son of George F. Johnson, a founder of Endicott and head of Endicott Johnson Shoe Company. Endicott was built as the site of a new factory in 1901.

George W.Johnson School was originally the North Side School. It was built because of the residential growth of the North Side.

New Life Ministries belongs the the Free Methodists, a breakaway group from the Methodists.
