Petrified Forest National Park has two visitors centers, one, called Painted Desert Visitors Center at the northern entrance and the Rainbow Forest Museum in the south. Both have individual cancellation stamps.

This museum and visitors center has the answer to everything you ever wanted to know about fosils and the staff was very helpful answering all my questions.

Behind the visitors center is the Giant Log Trail, an easy 0.4 miles long trail leading to the largest petrified tree in the park, called "Old Faithful"

Old Faithful, 225 mil. years old and 9.5 ft. diameter

There are many other interesting specimen along the way.

The sun has been shining on these trees for 225 million years!
