Baptism Fonts
A Baptism Font serves as a receptacle for baptismal water. The type we are looking for is a "decorative stone basin", supported on a pedestal or column.
Stone Lecterns
A lectern is a reading desk with a slanted top, usually placed on a stand on which documents or books are placed as support for reading aloud, as in a scripture reading, lecture, or sermon.
Preserved Coffin Lids
These can be found “on show” in the church (not on a grave) the ones we are looking for are several hundred years old and made of stone.
Church Lych Gate Coffin Stones
The lych gate coffin stone is within a porch or entrance to the churchyard where the coffin bearers placed the coffin on a wide seat, whilst waiting for the priest and the rest of the funeral cortege. These stones were in the centre of the entrance.
Piscinas
A stone basin with a drain for carrying away the water used in ceremonial ablutions. We are looking for decorative types.
Note: Spelling of category name uses Oxford English interpretation.
