Decommissioned naval vessels, maritime military museums and other maritime military historical sites dot the United States coastlines. Many other countries throughout the modern world have similar sites. This group seeks to document and discover these maritime military Waymarks for others to visit, to admire, and to remember.

HMCS Ojibwa (S72) was an Oberon-class submarine that served in the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) and later the Canadian Forces Maritime Command (MARCOM). Originally intended for service with the Royal Navy as HMS Onyx (S72), the submarine was transferred to Canadian ownership before completion, and entered RCN service in 1965. Just two Japanese sailors would use this submarine/torpedo...and their service was an act of suicide. Although 700 were built- only 50 were ever used in combat. This vessel is on display at the New Jersey Naval Museum- 78 River St. in Hackensack, NJ.
