Description:: World-wide, permanent historic markers, plaques, works of art, trees, or some other public acknowledgement, erected, made or placed to celebrate or commemorate a business or corporation's anniversary celebration or some other entity, event, group, people or organization's milestone or celebration.

Expanded Description:

Waymarks should document through some type of public marker or dedicated object whose specific purpose is to recognize or celebrating a business, corporate body, organization or individual celebrating an anniversary of its incorporation, date of inception or birth. This category is not for plaques or markers which recognize inaugural openings.

This is a nice example of a business celebrating its one hundredth year of incorporation. This would be the art shot.

** Update - September 15, 2011 **

In response to the recently denied waymarks celebrating a King's anniversary of his reign, this category will accept all anniversary markers and monuments that are not about a country, city, state, or other place. Also accepted are centennial or bicentennial commemorations of an individual's birth.

Instructions for Posting a Commercial Commemorations Waymark:

1. Naming - Follow the following naming convention:
Company, Group or Event Name - Anniversary Year - Town/City - State/Country
Example: Subaru of America - 25 Years - Cherry Hill, NJ or Battle of Gettysburg - 75 Years - Gettysburg, PA

2. Specify the company, group or event being waymarked (is it a small company, conglomeration, corporation, organization, etc. or is it a people celebrating a milestone) and its year of existence being celebrated. Please describe the area or scene of the waymark and how to get to it.

3. At least two original pictures are required, one an art shot of the object which commemorates the celebratory year of the company or organization and a picture of the general area. A bonus would be a picture of the company or organization building.

4. A brief and concise history of the company, organization or event.

5. A description of the object being waymarked.

6. Include the text of the marker or plaque in the long description
