Description:: The aim of this category is to document the locations of "Dollar" stores -- stores where all items sold are priced UP TO AND INCLUDING ONE DOLLAR.(up to two dollars in Canada).

Expanded Description:

This is a purely functional category intended to serve a need rather than highlight interesting places to visit. Geocachers visit dollar stores regularly to get trade swag. Sometimes you're caching a long way from home and need to restock your trade items and can't find a dollar store. After this category fleshes out you can jump over here and find one close by.

If there are such things as Yen Stores, Ruble Stores, Drachma Stores, Lira Stores, Schilling Stores, Canadian Dollarama Stores etc., they also qualify.

A given store can only be waymarked once, but there’s no limit to the number of stores one person can submit.

Instructions for Posting a Dollar Stores Waymark:

To qualify all items in the store must sell for ONE DOLLAR OR LESS. (UPDATE 3/8/12 - DUE TO THE LARGE NUMBER OF "DOLLARAMA" STORES IN CANADA BEING SUBMITTED TO THE CATEGORY, AND THE FACT THAT THEIR PRICING STRUCTURE IS A FIXED PRICE RANGE SIMILAR TO U.S. DOLLAR STORES, THEY WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE CATEGORY. THIS WILL GIVE THE CATEGORY THE OPPORTUNITY TO HELP WAYMARK THESE LOCATIONS, INSTEAD OF EXCLUDING THEM AS IT HAS IN THE PAST.)

For this reason, the following stores do not qualify:
Dollar General,
Family Dollar,
Dollar Crazy.
