Description:: This category is a place to waymark unique and unusual steeples with a minimum height of 20 feet or 6.1 meters. Interesting architecture, out of the ordinary designs, very tall steeples - these are the type of structures to be placed in the Unique Steeples category.

Expanded Description:

The Unique Steeples category is for steeples that have outstanding architectural elements, such as: multiple tiers, non-traditional architecture, unusual shape or height. These are usually found on churches, cathedrals, courthouses, city halls and other similar structures. The steeple must be an integral part of the structure.

This category will not accept small, simple, plain or mass produced steeples, such as: on top of motels, park pavilions, gazebos, LDS churches (spires) or similar structures.

The Unique Steeples category is updated and new requirements were added and modification to some existing requirements.
All previous approved waymarks that do not meet the new requirements are grandfathered.

Re: Photo Quality
We will only accept clear, unobstructed photographs of the Unique Steeple submitted. NO drive-by photos, out of focus or inferior quality.
Officers retain the decision about photo quality, if you submit inferior photos, your waymark will be declined. The officer's decision is final!

Any steeple accepted in this category must be a minimum height of 20 feet or 6.1 meters.
Visit a church or other structure with a steeple that meets all the requirements and provide a minimum of three photographs. There must be a close up of the steeple and an overview of the structure. The close up photograph of the steeple is used as the default. If there is any sign, plaque, cornerstone or other signage a photograph is required and a transcription is encouraged. Interior photographs are also encouraged and appreciated.
In the long description include: a minimum of three (3) sentences. Required is the name of the structure, a description of the steeple and any historical information, if known. Other options: describe the location, history of the area and/or any unique or interesting features of the steeple. The 3 sentence requirement is a personal narrative and is in addition to any copied text.
If you are using text from any source, you are required to use "quotation marks" and provide a source link below the quoted text. This will distinguish it from the personal narrative. You have the option to use a “blockquote", provide the source link.
The waymarker must personally obtain GPS coordinates.
An English translation is required, however multi-lingual submissions are encouraged.
Naming requirement: NO tilde (~) or double hyphens (--) are allowed in the title.
Include in the title the name of structure, city and state/province. Please omit from the title a phyical address and steeple descriptors, such as: old, tall, ornate, spiral, metal, etc.
Abbreviations are acceptable for state or province.
Country is optional.
