Description:
The point of this category is to list the political area high points including continents, countries, states, provinces, counties, parishes, territories, districts and similar political entities.

Expanded Description:
Geographic high points are the highest point of land in a designated political area. Continents can also be used. Political areas include countries, states, counties, provinces and territories - generally meaning the types of areas that have their own governmental structure. High points in parks, geographic designations other than continents(such as mountain ranges) and other non political areas do not count. For example "The Highest Point in Yellowstone Park", "Highest Point in the Gobi Desert, the "Highest Point at Oxford University" or the "Highest Point in the Alps" would NOT qualify.

Examples of high points that do qualify would be "The Highest Point in India", "The Highest Point in Sussex County", "The Highest Point in Quebec", The Highest Point in Chengdu Province" and "The Highest Point in Antarctica".

Buildings and other man made structures do not qualify as geographic high points.

Instructions for Posting a Geographic High Points Waymark:
The highest points in any country or continent are eligible, as are high points in political subdivisions such as states, provinces, territories, counties and parishes.

The name of the waymark should include the name for area of which this is the high point. If the high point is also a named peak, that can be appended to the name.

Examples of appropriate names are, "The Highest Point in Delaware", "The Highest Point in France (Mont Blanc)", "Orange County High Point", "Highest Point In South America (Aconcagua)" and "High Point New Jersey".

Please include a photo of the spot, or the view from it as well as a shot of a topo map of the high point, if available.
