description/mission statement:
To create and manage a category associated with the Smoky Hill Trail through Kansas. The goal is to locate and document the condition of the BOD (Butterfield Overland Despatch) markers set by Howard C. Raynesford in the mid-1960s to mark the trail of David A. Butterfield's stage line. There were originally 138 markers set on the 220 miles of the route between Fort Ellsworth (Fort Harker) and the Kansas/Colorado state line.
