The purpose and goal of this group is to discover, document, and preserve the memory of "Time Balls", "Time Guns", and "Time Flaps". These now obsolete devices were once used as public time markers.
Admiral Robert Wauchope (R.N.), who invented and installed the first Time Ball in 1829 at Portsmouth, is an honorary member.
