This category lists overnight accommodations which are similar in style to cottages or cabins, but are multi-unit facilities and provide similar services of a hotel. These facilities are sometimes attached to acreages or resorts; and usually located near areas with attractions such as lakes, skiing, hiking, biking, wilderness activities, golfing, forest reserves, etc.; however there are some located in remote areas providing the ultimate in a relaxed vacation. They can be located in the mountains, deserts, grasslands, and even on ocean and lake shores.
Some modern style lodges will be accepted since it is difficult to avoid contemporary styles. Here is an example of an acceptable contemporary style lodge:
