Donated by the French Government to the "Cabarrus Black Boys" Chapter D.A.R. of Concord, N. C. and in turn presented by them to the County of Cabarrus.
Field Artillery Gun No. 3293, manufactured by Krupp in their works, Essen, Germany, in 1907, 1900 Model.
Caliber 77 millimeters and range about 3 miles, fires 8 shells per minute.
Belongs to Prussian Field Artillery Regiment capture by famous 38th African Division of French Army on Yser Field in 1915 during counter attack delivered by the division in answer to first gas attack delivered by Germans during war.
Scratches on shields were cause by splinters from shells of French 76 millimeter gun
Coat of arms of Germany is engraved on barrel and German Eagle with imperial crown.
Near breech s imperial crown with initials of Former Kaiser, showing that gun belonged to Prussian Regiment
